Violette's story begins about 20 years ago, when Dana was designing avant-garde jewelry for the fashion week runways of NYC. A well-heeled client commissioned him to create an extraordinary ring with the following requirements—it must have the 3-dimensional qualities of a fluid sculpture, it must reference nature, and it must sparkle from every angle. It ended up being one of the first engagement rings Dana ever made. He created the master model by hand: sculpting silver and brass elements he had designed as flowing leaf abstractions. Two decades later Dana has reimagined the original design to include a thin band of pave diamonds, adding a classic note to the piece and tempering the organic lines to create balance.
